User Reviewandee dMy most cherished memory as a child is watching this. People might complain about it's supposedly bleak themes and in part they are validated but the friendship between the two protagonists is so touching and heartfelt, even right up to the tragic end that it papers over the dark themes that people find upsetting. Life is hard and a struggle. Surely our own experiences tell us this and that's what makes this special for me.
User ReviewTristan Ahis is certainly one of the best animated films I have ever had the pleasure to view. Incredibly powerful, and at some parts heartbreaking, I hafta admit there were moments when i was in tears. I also do not know much about animation, but I thought that the animation was done vey well...I would not recommend this film for young children as there are some very graphic, brutal moments. iThis is a movie that shows the darker, less cookie cutter aspects of humanity.
User ReviewVinnie VIt's such a beautiful film about such a sad subject... amazing.
User ReviewTimothy DAll I can say is wow. This is a very dark movie and the ending is not what you would expect.
User ReviewJack GYou gotta be crazy, you gotta have a real need. You gotta sleep on your toes, and when you're on the street, You gotta be able to pick out the easy meat with your eyes closed. And then moving in silently, down wind and out of sight, You gotta strike when the moment is right without thinking. If Cormac McCarthy were British and tasked to write an animated movie with dogs, it might look like this - only the Road comes to mind as something so gut-wrenching and ambiguous and heartbreaking. Even in its shortened form (which seems to be the only place to find it outside of Australia) it's one of the best animated films.
User ReviewDavina WA touching film with a story that congeals better than anticipated in the end. Do not expect this to be an animated version of Homeward Bound. This film comes highly recommended.
User ReviewCullan BUpon reflection, the ending is actually beautiful.
User ReviewJonathan SA criminally overlooked animated drama. Wonderful animation brings this brilliant tale to life. Definitely check out the uncut version.
