Confronting the harsh realities of life from the rooftop of his house somewhere in a suburb of Adana, the taciturn young man, Yusuf, spends his time passionately breeding pigeons. Indeed, the birds, which has inherited from his father, are Yusuf's solace, and, in particular, one female pigeon, Maverdi, is his favourite.
