Leave your thoughts about The Phantom Tollbooth.
TIME MagazineStefan KanferThe youthful viewer and his parents should overlook Phantom Tollbooth's flaws and concentrate on the film's underlying moral.
Radio TimesTom Hutchinson[The film] has some wonderful ideas, but they're likely to be a bit above the heads of very young children. The rest should enjoy it, especially the bits with the great Mel Blanc, Toonville's greatest-ever voice.
Common Sense MediaPaul TrandahlClever artistry fails to convey the book's depth.
Film and FeltGabe LeibowitzThe animation is clean, with enough pop to do Dictionopolis-and-company justice.
User ReviewEthan Mextemplerary. It was absolutely great. even my little sister was inspired by it and she's only 4.
User ReviewCarol WI loved this movie! I thought it was better than the book. However, being a fan of Bugs Bunny, Marvin the Martian, Wylie Cyote etc. does make me somewaht biased (grin). I hope they put it on DVD someday.
User ReviewJody EWe all thought that this one was briliant!
User ReviewBrian RAn unsung masterpiece of American animation. A fantastic adaptation of one of the finest children's books ever written that honors its source while utilizing the filmic medium. Much of the genius wordplay and ideas manages to stay true in the film. Plus this is the only feature length film directed by Chuck Jones, I don't know why it's not an American classic and a staple in every family's home. It's not even on DVD for christ's sake!!!
User ReviewAaron HA amazing book animated into a classic. My kids will watch this one day.
User ReviewCarlos NUna hermosa odisea a los jardines de la infancia.
