Movie MetropolisJohn J. PuccioWhile the ending gets fairly manic, you'd expect that of what is essentially a screwball British comedy. ...funny stuff.
Reel Film ReviewsDavid Nusair...it's certainly not difficult to see why the film has been forgotten in the years since its 1957 release.
User ReviewRoche FWickedly funny - Dennis Price and Peter Sellers act each other off the set - and dear old Terry-Thomas supplies more than the right amount of upper class twittery.
User ReviewJL SAfter accidentally encountering each other and realizing they're not alone, the victims of a would-be blackmailer organize an elaborate plot to dispose of their tormenter. The kind of dark comedy that seems to only work well in British movies.
User ReviewTom MSellers in a frighteningly revealing role, *almost* playing himself... This film doesn't end very well, but is very evocative of its time: see in conjunction with "The League of Gentlemen" and "Hell Drivers".
User ReviewPrivate UPeter Sellers, Peggy Mount, Shirley Eaton & Terry Thomas are blackmailed by seedy journalist Dennis Price. One by one and then collectively, they attempt to bump him off. Droll crispy dialogue and wonderfully stylised performances
User ReviewMarco TWhile Sellers' is deservedly remembered for Clouseau, Strangelove and Chance, many of his early British work is undeservedly overlooked and this is one such example. Delightful and entertaining throughout with a top cast. Sellers' doomed Irish impersonation is probably the best bit.
User ReviewMikhail BA group of well placed people are blackmailed by an unscrupulous journalist. Terry Thomas turns in a wonderful performance only matched by Peter Sellers and the unforgettable Peggy Mount. A classic British comedy.
User ReviewDon CHas some cute bits. Very British slapstick.
User ReviewAnn JNot what I expected, and the concept is not used to it's fullest. But the actors are still great.
