Classic Film and TelevisionMichael E. GrostLively tale in which the characters are even more interesting than the adventure.
User ReviewCourtney CI would marry Charlton Heston right now. I don't care that he has been married for 60+ years and is in his 80s. That man is a dreamboat. Oh. About the movie. I am an expert on Charlton Heston flicks and this is in my top 3. I am sure I will be reviewing more in the future.
User Reviewdiana wEleanor Parker and Charlton Heston made a wonderful pair, the chemistry was perfect.
User ReviewAnna *This is one of those Sunday afternoon films that we've all found ourselves watching at some point. The difference is that this one is actually good! The plot goes as follows: Chuck (a man who clearly doesnt want a mail order bride) orders a mail order bride, Parker (a woman who clearly doesnt want to be a mail order bride). They argue for ages until a swarm of killer ants bring them together. Ace!
User ReviewRob HYou want adventure, you got it. You want romance, you got it. You want one man fighting an army of killer ants? What more can you ask for?
User ReviewSunho LLoved the story and loved this classic movie. One of the first dvds I had to buy.
User ReviewButt HCharlton Heston was a hot-ass bitch. Woo hoo, at the very end, he had his shirt open. I almost fainted. And them ants was sceery.
User ReviewMatt Lintese stuff it made me cry possible the best movie ever everyone should watch this one
User ReviewMatthew CA woman travels to South America to be the bride of a wealthy plantation owner. But when the owner turns out to be an exacting and arrogant jerk, she finds she may be in over her head. As something sinister approaches through the jungle, she must try to win over her new husband, or call it quits and head back home. With echoes of Beauty and the Beast, as well as some nineteenth century potboilers, the movie is really made by the performances. And darn if I don't completely identify with Heston's character. If only I had the money and power to back it up. HestFactor 9.
User ReviewSteve GShockingly effective! As inane & incredulous as the plot sounds at first, it's pulled off really well. Hard to believe, I know. The dynamic between Heston & Parker is always intriguing. The threat of 'marabunta' (aka Killer Ants) is genuinely suspenseful, & the effects are fairly well done. A suprising achievement.
