User Review - 10/10 by Matthew T5*'s purely for the scene with the little dwarf that get's pushed off the stairs by the tall guy. Comedy gold!
User Review - 8/10 by Michael AOne for those with a penchant for the weird, freakish type of horror movie only early 70's british studios could make... great to see Tom Baker in an early role....
User Review - 6/10 by Joey INot the best movie or the most movie and Tod Browning's Freaks will always triumph over any movie that involve "freaks". I can recommend this if you're a fan of Tom Baker or Donald Pleasence and are interested in checking out their pre-Doctor Who or pre-Halloween work. Otherwise you can just skip it.
User Review - 6/10 by Bruce BThis is Old School Drive-Inn Friday Night Horror, so-so for Halloween, Not sure it would do much for anyone under 25. To slow. But now those born in the Sixties might work for ya.
User Review - 4/10 by Jimmy PThe freaks in the fair are actually kind of fun and are probably professionals I'm guessing, but Donald Pleasance is uncharacteristically wooden unfortunately, and I have no idea why he has the dodgiest accent in the world!! Mildly entertaining...
User Review - 4/10 by Nick MThis film really is rubbish, again though it starts to fall into the category of its so bad it is worth a look. Some of the scenes in it are unbelievable (you would not get away with those freak scenes today!)! And looks like its been made on a budget of £20! One of the plus points of this film is to see Tom Baker in his pre-Doctor Who days as a mad freak with a bad haircut! The cake destroying scene is so funny, I would try and explain the plot, but I havenâ??t really got a clue what its about! Donald Pleasance would have been better leaving this one off his CV!
User Review - 4/10 by The NThe Mutations is an oddity of a film really, from sideshow curiosity to mad scientist horror to 70's sleaze it never quite decides what it wants to be & suffers because of it but there's enough to keep you from being bored & I liked it overall even if it could have been even better.

User Review - 4/10 by Francisco GThe Mutations barrows more then a little from Tod Browning's Freaks. As I said in my review of that movie I don't like 'the weirdies'. Alternately titled The Freakmaker it exploits the oddities more then Browning's outing but hey this was the 70s. All in all not a very good movie but saved by Donald Pleasence who underplays the bio-scientist but is the best thing going. I watched a sort documentary w/ this film & I actually liked it more afterwards. It made me appreciate what they were able to pull off on such a small budget. But that is really how this movie should be treated; as a low budget feature. It's really nothing more then an exploitation B-movie & truthful probably should get the remake treatment now a days only by an independent
User Review - 2/10 by delysid di hated this movie. A mad scientist whose plans to make a half human half plant go terribly wrong and end up causing his own death. So many great movies came out in 1974, this has got to be one of the worst. First of all, its not scary in the slightest, the mad scientist is not evil enough, the "Freaks" are not freaky enough, the whole thing was so lame, its sort of a PG horror movie for children. 1000 Curses!!!
