| User ReviewLilianetty lI don't know what to say...is not disturbing at all. Is not an horror film neither a thriller...is more of like a "movie of finding your inner self" I believe. Drama fits it well (for me at least looks more like DRAMA). Amy as Melanie was great (sometimes I felt she was ok). Melanie is this character that you don't feel pity for her at all. Her parents died and the only thing she believes in (coz somehow has her mother's spirit) is her DOLL (you may say "creepy"...I say she's crazy). She doesn't go out much either and if she does is only to the store and library. In the town there are other characters (the person in the store "Kenny" done well by Josh Caras), Geneva (the one in library aka "Mrs. Wiley"), and of course Robin Lord Taylor as "Dukken". Dukken's story is very nice indeed. Why? He becomes the 1st real friend of Melanie. He tries to understand what is happening to her (but can't say more. You need to see how his story ends). In general, is a nice ''indie'' film with nice story telling, editing and camara shots. The acting was great also only that a character like "Melanie" was honestly to BIG for Amy. Sometimes I was not convinced enough. The music score was lovely also (even if it's missing almost the whole movie). Anyway, if you like DOLLS, Robin Taylor and stories like this (I can tell this can work better on THEATRE or in ANIME/MANGA), I recommend it to you. If you don't like any of the things I have said before...don't. - December 2015 review (mega late). |
| User ReviewCollin RIf it's not the terrible acting, it's the terribly slow pace of this horrendous horror. |
