Hanging out at some campgrounds one nice summer day, 19-year-old Ray Pye decides to murder two young women. His friends, Jen and Tim, witness the murder and help him cover it up. Four years later, Ray has never been arrested for the crime. Detective Charlie Schilling and his ex-partner, Ed Anderson, know that Ray did it. They just could never prove it. Charlie figures it's about time they did prove it. He's ready to push Ray harder than ever. Meanwhile, Ray has met his match in a new girl in town, Katherine Wallace. Kath is a bad girl; she and Ray are a potentially explosive combination. Throw in the fact that Ed is having a summer fling with Sally Richmond - a girl young enough to be his daughter. And Sally's just gotten a job at the motel that Ray manages. Ray has his eye on her. Charlie and Ed never found the gun that Ray used to murder the women at the campground. That rifle, as well as a handgun, are hidden behind the mirror in Ray's bathroom. Ray can only be pushed so far. The time will come when he takes the mirror off the wall and shows everyone who is in charge.

ESplatter - 7/10 by Steve BiodrowskiFans looking for a decent thriller or a frightening fear flick had best look elsewhere.
Cinema Crazed - 6/10 by Felix Vasquez Jr.Makes a great case for being a cult classic...
User Review - 10/10 by Jean-François L"The return to realism. One of the darkest horror dramas in a lifetime. Superior to the novel, despite the fact that the setting was shifted from the 60s to modern times. Terrific performances namely from Marc Senter who makes a pretty amazing Ray Pye. I feel sorry for Chris Siverston, knowing that right after this he went on to make that 'I Know Who Killed Me' flick. A movie so gory and herendously shocking that you want to finish your popcorn before the last 20 minutes of the movie. Just a heads up for those who read the novel, the ending isn't as gory as the novel"
User Review - 10/10 by Devon WGreat DISTURBING movie adapted from a novel!!!
User Review - 10/10 by Victoria Li've never read the book, so my review is based solely on seeing this as a movie. as a movie, it is absolutely fantastic. incredible acting, as well as beautifully shot. the soundtrack is fantastic, and i will be anyone's best friend who can find it for me! this has become an instant favourite for me. i think that's one of the best things about watching movies you really know nothing about, they can become movies you can't live without.
User Review - 10/10 by Wendy TTough to watch, but, excellent acting on behalf of Marc Senter; worth watching.
User Review - 10/10 by Jessica RI'd reccomend this film to everyone, but seeing it might just kill you. One of the most disturbing fucking movies ever made, hands down.
User Review - 8/10 by Bruce BA cult classic to be sure. Violent? Oh yeah! Well acted? Very much so. I am very surprised that this movie did not get more coverage. Creepy and effective crime spree with an ultra violent, over the top ending. Not for everyone especially the easily disturbed.
User Review - 8/10 by Shane WBased on the novel by the ever relentless Jack Ketchum who really knows how to stick it in and break it off. Sivertson does a remarkable job adapting the novel and the cast populated with unknowns and a couple of well knowns does an astounding job. We are subjected to the slow de-evolution of psychopath Ray Pye who gives us a glimpse into the mind of a truly disturbed persona. Definitely worth seeing as is anything based on Ketchum's work.
User Review - 8/10 by Max BThe Lost is a creepy, sadistic, and disturbing film that makes Ray Pye a brother of Hannibal Lector. Marc Senter plays as (Ray Pye) a 19-year old teenage murderer, who is smart, charming, handsome, but is trying to hide his sadistic side. Meanwhile The Lost is definitely one of the better recent psychopathic horror films, that has many twists and turns. The Lost is on the violent and sexual side, but that's what the antagonist is about. Some other reasons why I liked The Lost, is that Erin Brown aka: (Misty Mundae) and Ruby LaRocca were in the the film for about five minutes. But hey at least they were in it, and they both did great. Overall The Lost is a reasonably good film for horror fans around.
