User ReviewDavid WMy favorite WWI era film. A great Aussie movie! The horse charge scene at the end is woth it alone!
User ReviewPrivate UOne of my all-time favorite movies. You really feel for the characters and what they go through. Many historical characters appear scattered throughout the movie. But this is more than a history lesson, this is insight into soldiers' lives and a stunning portrayal of the last (and one of the greatest) calvary charge in history. This movie will tap into your raw emotions and you will be moved.
User ReviewJosé EBrilliant - the last cavalry charge ever. Great commaradarie, team spirit and acting. One of the few of the few worthy Australian films. Highly Recommended.
User ReviewLenore TThis is one of those movies that you never forget.
User ReviewBrian MOne of my favourite Australian movies which I would recommend highly. The end when they charge on their horses is teary stuff.
User ReviewStuart EWith some literary licence, this is a true story of how the Austrailians, under the British, fooled Turkish commanders/advised by Germans and captured Beersheba and it's wells
User ReviewRobert LMy favourite Aussie film! I adored watching this as a kid and I still love it now. Great characters. Masterful dierction. Smart scripting that never glorifies what happened. Superb cameo from Anthony Andrews. Peter Pheleps is young & surprisingly good. Most important of all, this is one of your only chances to witness the lost talent that was Jon Blake...a young actor with boundless talent, energy, charm and skill...he was in a car accident shortly after filming where he became a living vegetable...a tragedy. This film is an astonishing tribute to his talent and the legacy of the ANZACs.
User ReviewStephen CBrilliant Aussie movie of a true story. Must watch!
