Film Journal InternationalMaitland McDonaghPainfully unhip vanity project, with pretensions to being a scathingly satirical look at the contemporary culture of empty celebrity.
n+1A.S. HamrahThe two of them are strangely resilient, and so is the film, a gem from an era of manufactured cult items.

User ReviewLee MHate this ultra-low budget indie post-modern satire for its pretension and shallow yet blinding glimpses at the obvious. Love this ultra-low budget indie post-modern satire for its originality, its anti-Hollywood sensibilities , the logic of its insane meta-conclusion, its warped astringent wit. I think it lies somewhere in between, where a decent story would have corrected its most obvious flaws and allowed its most obvious virtues to shine.
User ReviewJosh MThe Last Big Thing is one of those Indie Hipster movies about nothing in particular. There is a sort of twist at least but its more of an "Oh" than an "OMG".
