Ozus' World Movie Reviews - 8/10 by Dennis SchwartzWhat the disappointing nevertheless fascinating visual film never clears up is all the confusion it leaves us with.
Mania.com - 7/10 by Rob VauxGreat concept, great cast, stellar production values, and yet somehow Michael Mann - pound for pound one of the best filmmakers in the game - just can't bring it together.
L.A. Weekly - 4/10 by Michael NordineThe movie can’t always keep its many moving parts in lockstep, what with its hinted-at mythos that obscures more than it elucidates and its cast of enigmatic characters whose precise dealings with one another are never made entirely clear, but its World War II backdrop, ravishing synth score by Tangerine Dream and Third Reich mysticism make for a poppy but brooding atmosphere.
User Review - 10/10 by Ron WThis film is one of my all-time favourites, I think it's visuals are pleasing, the storyline is good. The atmosphere and the visuals really make this film a classic. The slow motion sequences and the design of the evil man and is dialogue is spot on
User Review - 10/10 by Alan BVastly underrated, this a completely fascinating film in eerie mood and supernatural atmosphere. Good sound design in music and effects. Production design, especially in the Keep set itself is very effective. To say more, for those who haven't been inside yet, would be most unsettling.........
User Review - 10/10 by Ricardo CYou need to watch this movie, it has music, special effects and acting that you don't want to miss, such a haunting atmospheric movie, incredible that people write it off, most likely to it's age. Despite the poor editing of this film thanks to the studio, many glorious parts remain, it could have been so much more if the director was allowed to show his cut, but alas no. It remains to me a very special film even after watching it recently, I hope one day the studio will stop hiding the footage and we can have the extended cut which I am sure will be excellent.
User Review - 10/10 by Christian CThis movie has deep, deep flaws. But mostly they are flaws of the '80s. It's still one of my favorite movies of the '80s. Book was better though.
User Review - 10/10 by Steve HGreat horror movie and book by F.paul Wilson Nazis and vampires in WW2 a great combination !!
