User ReviewPierre-Luc GVraiment bon! On prend 10 Petits Nègres d'Agatha Christie, on y ajoute un brin de technologie et quelques acteurs japonais et on se retrouve avec un bon petit chef-d'oeuvre.
User ReviewYuuka TCute like a mild, PG-rated SAW, complete with the Jigsaw-like wooden figures and a lot of mystery novel touches. The moral of the story is the same moral every distopian future warns of. Nothing stand-out about it but it was enjoyable. I would have liked it twice as much if the lead had been a tiny bit more of a brave do-gooder at the end instead of a righteous rebel. I`d tell you why but I think it would spoil the ending.
User ReviewGrant SGreat concept, but flawed execution. Ten strangers sign up for a highly lucrative but mysterious role. They then discover that they are to be part of a social experiment lasting seven days. Also turns out that the experiment involves murder... Very interesting premise, and the first few scenes for the movie were very intriguing. The movie felt like Battle Royale meets Cube meets Cluedo, with a touch of Agatha Christie thrown in. However, it doesn't quite deliver on its promise. While trying to be a study in human behaviour, it doesn't really capture human behaviour very well. In addition, many plot developments feel contrived, and can easily be explained away, by means more obvious than those decided upon in the movie. We also have twists for twists sake, some of which are telegraphed a long way off. On the plus side, there is still a good degree of intrigue, and this does keep you interested. Overall: okay, but not great. A tighter, more focused script and this would have been excellent.
User ReviewMohd SIf you like to be detective, you better watch Detective Conan or Kindaichi Case Files.
User ReviewChalinee BThe Incite Mill is a psycho-thriller film involving a game of death like we've seen before in films like Battle Royale, My Little Eye etc. Ten people, who were desperately looking for jobs and money, are lured into a locked building and to kill each other to survive and get the tremendous prize. The main plot is nothing new. Anyway, the film is still fun and exciting with unexpected twists. But it could be improved. I find that some murders are not so rational enough. They should have added more background of the characters which has triggered them to such brutal action. This can contribute to the film which tries to depict several types of human mind.
User ReviewJonathan HIt was ok for a one time watch. Kinda twisted, but the environment was too dull for me.
User ReviewAmbrita RNot really an original concept, but it wasn't that bad Good stroryline, especially for the ones who love crime-mystery stories. But i think the director wanted this movie to be dramatic in the dialogues with excessive-forced-act from the Protagonist. Unfortunately, it wasn't that dramatic. Honestly, i feel a bit annoyed with the protagonist (Tatsuya Fujiwara)'s acting and his character in this movie. It's way too much, and very disturbing. The slow-pace-plot trying to make the audiences wondering who is the killer, what's the purpose of this, etc., as the plot takes you all around the room with its big question and twists before you'll be brought to the truth. Actually there are so many clues (that related with the stroy) within the movie when you pay much attention. Incite mill was trying so hard to blends 'any-reality-tv-killing-movies' with detective's story. You can see that from, for example, the figurines of Ten Little Indians (Agatha Christie) in the dining room; the rules of the game/experiment; the weapons that was in everybody's rooms, which each weapon has a title from famous mystery-crime-detective stories. Most of all, don't take this movie seriously. Just watch it while you're eating your popcorn, texting your lover, and doing your homework.
User ReviewChris AThis movie is bruuuutal. It might have been marginally interesting 15 years ago but it's so played out there's nothing new. The characters are shallow and do everything against common sense. PASS
User ReviewTrent RTechno-Ten Little Indians, with a lot of set design substituting for any sense of psychological suspense or unpredictable mystery. Tatsuya Fujiwara is cast for type to play off of his Battle Royale role, although the cursory nods to generational bridge-building and backstory do little to humanize the characters in this instance. The young cast is generally relegated to romantic subplot, over-acting insanity, or staring into camera with a panicked expression to indicate a mystery being solved. There is little more of appeal here than a series of kills and somewhat interesting plot points tied to the design.
