Film Threat - 8/10 by Jason DelgadoIt’s a showcase for what great independent filmmaking is all about, taking an interesting concept and applying excellent acting and directing on a limited budget. I will say that the ending felt a little weak to me, but the film is akin to life in general in that the most important aspect is the journey.
The Film Stage - 7/10 by Jared MobarakThe Immaculate Room isn’t breaking the mold on this type of conceit; if anything it’s purposely embracing a narrow scope of mental fracturing the scenario can ignite and counting on the actors to make it compelling.
The A.V. Club - 5/10 by Manuel BetancourtDespite its thrilling central performances and its sleek production design, The Immaculate Room has more ideas than it can hold together, and emerges, quite ironically it must be said, as quite a muddled mess.
The Playlist - 4/10 by Oliver WeirMake no mistake, Bosworth and Hirsch give their all in this film, but no amount of fiery insult-slinging or saccharine ‘How we first met’ details can make this stale script seem new. The tropes aren’t just old, they’re antediluvian.
Los Angeles Times - 4/10 by Katie WalshThe Immaculate Room tests the audience’s patience as much as it does the characters’.
Screen Rant - 4/10 by Brittany WitherspoonWith thinly written characters and a narrative confined to moments only serving to push Mike and Kate to the height of insanity, this is about as disappointing as it gets for a film with such promise and potential.
Screen Rant - 4/10 by Patrice WitherspoonWith thinly written characters and a narrative confined to moments only serving to push Mike and Kate to the height of insanity, this is about as disappointing as it gets for a film with such promise and potential.
The New York Times - 3/10 by Lena WilsonThe film focuses more on one character’s moral defects than the sketchy project overall, leading to a conclusion that feels unsatisfying at best and pompous at worst.
User Review - 4/10 by JLuis_001It's hard to pay real attention to a fable about monotony when the creator himself realizes that he has to cheat in order to keep the plot moving, otherwise he would have hit a hard wall before the first half hour is up. His actors are the ones who manage to sell what they are allowed to offer, but even when they do try, The Immaculate Room is as banal as what it tries to criticize.
User Review - 3/10 by endorAZWhat a turd. The actors are "ok" most of the time. But the characters that they play are incredibly annoying. The choices they make are stupid and unbelievable. Which is almost believable because of how dumb the characters are written. Toward the end, I laughed out loud several times at moments that were supposed to be dramatic. There will probably be some professional critics that say it's smart and amazing because they are afraid of being accused of "not getting it." Don't waste your time. I checked the movie's running time almost as often as the characters checked the countdown clock.
