Stocky Greg's passion is football, and he rounds up his family from their respective church meetings and rushes home just in time to make the kick-off of the Sunday afternoon Vikings game. He has just planted himself in front of his massive television screen scarfing down chicken when his new home teaching companion, Nelson, calls to inform him that he has set an appointment to visit the Mori family in 15 minutes. Mormon males serving as home teachers are admonished to visit with their assigned families once a month, bring them a spiritual message, and provide help as necessary. Nelson, a nerdy "letter of the law" kind of Mormon who will not even purchase gas on a Sunday, intends to visit 100 % of his assigned families every month, and as this is the last day of the month even the many madcap mishaps that start immediately will not deter him from completing his duty despite Greg's griping and attempts to get back to the games.

User ReviewTawnya GI haven't seen most of the LDS movies that are out there. But out of the few that I've seen, this is one of the best movies out there, and it's hilarious!!!
User ReviewSusie DFunny (and corny) family movie for all us mormons to see!
User ReviewPrivate Uhas to be one of my fav LDS-made movies. I don't care what other people say, this movie is worth watching and hilarious!
User ReviewJordan Ma mormon rip off of tommy boy, minus the funny.
User ReviewLeyla HIt has some good one liners, but gets a little too whacky for my liking. There are some hillarious scenes and I like the message of accepting people even if they are different. Not a favourite, but a good laugh about once every few years.
User ReviewAnthony DCompletely unfunny, and at times very annoying, showing two people who are completely incompetent at doing something that is actually extremely important in the church. The humor is nothing you haven't seen before: so squeaky clean that it is devoid of originality or creativity, and not a whole lot of intelligence to boot. Eventually of course the two characters figure it out and there is a touching moment where they come to understand the real importance of home teachingâ¦but the rest of the movie is two completely clueless misfits stumbling around Utah trying to fulfill their home teaching requirements, both of them for the wrong reasons. I understand that this stuff does happen in real life, and that regardless of their feelings or motivations both characters were at least trying to be good peopleâ¦but the film does not convey what little message the movie has effectively or consistently. A major failure as far as Mormon filmmaking is concernedâ"which is definitely saying something.
User ReviewNopporn JI can only blame myself. Look at the friggin cover. In any case, the first 10 minutes (from the closing of Priesthood to the avoidance of going hometeaching) is actually really funny. I was shocked that is was good. Then..."hilarity ensues"...wow, pure crap.
User ReviewJessi TToo bad. There were some hilarious parts in this movie. Unfortunately it didn't get any flow. It was just one gag to another. I was disappointed.
