User ReviewMatt BOne of the best documentaries I've ever seen.
User ReviewIván BExcellent! Though the presence of Dolores Fuller and Vampira, almost worshiping Ed Wood since kind of hypocrite.
User ReviewJoe KJust an absolutely terrific documentary about "the worst director of all time." Getting to see the original cast speak about Ed is really quite amazing. And although this movie is entertaining and informative, it is also quite sad. Still, fans of Mr. Wood, and maybe even people who aren't will find this movie as amazing as I did.
User ReviewRobert IOne of the best documentaries I've ever seen.
User ReviewGarry JVery honest and interesting look into the life of a great man. For all those people who always make fun of Ed Wood and his movies, watch this and you'll eat your words.
User ReviewJeremiah ZA really interesting look at the life and work of Ed Wood, who is considered to be the worst movie director of all time (this is a false statement), which has brought him a level of notoriety and fame after his untimely death. I liked how they got people who didn't respect him (Vampira), as well as people who thought he was "a user and a loser" (Bela Lugosi Jr.) in there so it brought you a multi-angle view of the man, as opposed to a piece consisting of fluff and worship. However this ultimately helps to highlight why Ed Wood was great. There is a bit where Vampira talks about how she thought Ed Wood was a sad little man who "couldn't see his own limitations", but it is the fact that Wood refused to recognize his limits that made him an artist (if you could call him that), who is remembered. If he had let his limits stopped him, Ed Wood would just be a name on a gravestone, but he didn't, and that's why people all over the world love to throw on PLAN 9 FROM OUTER SPACE for an evening of cheesy and memorable laughs again and again. This movie goes well with Tim Burton's fantastic biopic on Wood, since it will show you some of the accuracies and liberties in the story presented there.
User ReviewJoseph JThere was more to know about Ed Wood in this documentary then I thought. I liked how you got different views and opinions by everyone that worked with this man. Some loved him and some just down right hated him. It is a must see for fans of the biopic by Depp and Burton.
User ReviewPamela DA touching, poignant, and gratifyingly clarifying documentary portrait of this uncategorizable low budget film maker.
User ReviewJohn BI wish I could hang out with Maila Nurmi.
User ReviewCaleb MHe may be one of the worst filmmakers, but like all of us; his story was really interesting.
