Film Geek CentralAustin KennedyIf it focused more on the comedy instead of a generic horror plot, then this definitely would have been a fresher comedy. Instead, it's just a mediocre movie that just so happens to have a few funny gags in it.
User ReviewMartin AWow, I loved this 1940s Horror comedy. Hope and Goddard are fantastic. Mary inherits a castle in castle, but a murder, warnings and voodoo all stand in the way of her taking her inheritance. And of course there are some hansom men too! Sadly Willie Bests acting shows a now very dated role for black actors, but it's a very enjoyable film all the same, with an outstanding cast.
User ReviewJames Hthis was the first film ever to scare me lol
User ReviewJay HDon't make them like this anymore, great film
User ReviewGARY AMy best old scary movie. Bob Hope was great and Paulette Goddard! Wow I would haunt you anywhere! Back then of course.

User ReviewRichard DGhost Breakers is probably the greatest movie in the "spooky haunted house genre" of the B&W era. Bob Hope is in top form, Paulette Goddard does her usual first-rate job and Willie Best puts in an amazing performance. I've seen this classic probably 100 times, and I never tire of it.
User ReviewAnthony LHoly Crap, the jokes come so fast and you barely have time to get it and laugh before they're three jokes away. Everyone is brilliant, and what do you know, I was actually spooked a couple of times! First time I ever saw Bob Hope, and I am very impressed!
User ReviewChrisanne Slovely comedy, whose use of atmospherics n dark creepy houses raise a few chills together with all the laughs bob hope brings. great film watchable again and again
