Movie Reviews

Film Journal International - 9/10 by Maitland McDonaghThe Funhouse Massacre isn't the kind of unexpected eye-opener that keeps genre fans panning through the silt, but it has moments.
The Hollywood Outsider - 7/10 by Aaron PetersonIf you're looking for a needle of bliss buried in that haystack of horror-hell, this one more than lives up to the 'fun' promised in the title.
Dread Central - 7/10 by Staci Layne WilsonI enjoyed The Funhouse Massacre and would watch it again; it's a good addition to the Halloween-themed canon. The title says it all: fun and massacre.
Variety - 6/10 by Dennis HarveyNot the cleverest or most original horror comedy, Andy Palmer’s indie feature is nonetheless above average within that subgenre, offering fast-paced fun for fans.
Fat Guys at the Movies - 6/10 by Kevin Carra bloody good time with plenty of gore and some authentic haunted house moments
Cinema Crazed - 6/10 by Felix Vasquez Jr.A grab bag of laughs, gore, and creeps, and it's definitely a horror comedy you should look in to come October.
Los Angeles Times - 5/10 by Noel MurrayHonestly, The Funhouse Massacre isn't quite enough of either.
TheFrightFile.com - 5/10 by Dustin PutmanHolds a low-budget charm, but there is a better film-one that's cleverer, creepier, and more imaginatively utilizes its setting-just out of reach.
Village Voice - 3/10 by Simon AbramsAmateurish direction and generic characterization make a light premise — serial killers slaughter a rural carnival's haunted-house patrons while pretending to be carnies — feel like a slog.
User Review - 10/10 by Nick AI'm no Siskel or Ebert but I do know a good Horror Comedy when I see one and The Funhouse Massacre was some seriously good fun. It's fulfills my mentor, Job Bob Briggs "Three B's": Blood, Breasts and Beasts. Well, at least the most important two, unless you're calling Rocco the Clown a beast which I guess he is. Meaning that yeah, there's boobs n'blood, lots of blood. And yeah, it's even got Robert Englund in it. Don't know who he is? Then go run out and run into a crowded street as soon as possible. Englund definitely isn't the star of the film though. To me that's definitely Deputy Doyle, played by Ben Begley, the guy who co-wrote the film with his wife Renee, who plays the part of the sexy nerdy bumblebee. They must have had a lot of fun writing and acting together in this krazy picture. I enjoyed the performances of the all the six main psychopaths and especially liked the character Dollface. In fact my girlfriend might dress up like her for Halloween this year! Good story, great costumes, well written with plenty of laughs, what more can you ask for in a horror comedy? I know, a sequel...
