Variety - 5/10 by Joe LeydonIt's more likely to serve as a calling card than a breakthrough for any of the parties involved.
User Review - 10/10 by Vivianna V"The Incredibly True Adventures of Two Girls In Love" may have been dethroned. 5 stars

User Review - 10/10 by Ursula MFor a low budget film it is absolutely spectacular. the cinematography is beautiful and amazing. The relationship between Molly and Bridget is convincing and a real relationship for a change...not a couple of smoking hot lesbians in the traditional sense. There are a couple of giggles, for me mostly found in the facial expressions and snappy dialogue. It's a love story, above all else and that makes it lovely.
User Review - 10/10 by Cheri HThis film gets five stars for being REAL. I don't know. Something about the humor and the scenes, the way it was directed. It didn't feel like a scripted movie, it felt...real.
User Review - 8/10 by Duke FAnother great and thought provoking film set in New York! For actor turned director Jacob Chase, he has done a very good job with his first feature film...Basically this is a film about love and lies for four young people looking to find themselves in New York City. A group of best friends (Trip, Chloe and Bridget) and a seemingly perfect couple (Greg and Molly) meet at a local Irish pub called the Four Faced Liar tucked in the winding streets of the West Village. Through their chance meeting, the five bond and over time all of their relationships with one another morph into love, betrayal and heartbreak for all..Available on Netflix for instant streaming! Highly recommended!!
User Review - 8/10 by Alex PI don't know if it's me or not, but every time I watch a movie with 2 or more characters I end up not being able to remember all their names. Usually this is a downfall of the film because I end up not caring, in The Four-Faced Liar, this was not the case. I was unable to keep names in tow, but their characters were played to perfection (by four fresh faces), each nailing their relationship woes and the effects that follow. The worst part about a film that has 5 characters, is that one of them is going to end up alone, blame it on coincidence, but everytime this happens, I find myself relating to that character more than any of the others. Still, putting my life aside, this movie is funny for those who understand witty humor, if you don't you'll just be turned off, this film has a specific demographic in mind and I feel it hits it right on. The 20 something in NYC film has been done over and over, but each time I watch another I find myself wanting to go back.
User Review - 8/10 by Meghan DGreat little movie, really well done. Endearing and funny characters and a believable plot. Proves you don't need eon's of money to make a good film.
User Review - 8/10 by Mikael KMolly and Greg, a loving couple in a seemingly stable relationship, move to New York City and hit it off with a local couple Chloe and Trip. Chloe and Trip are best friends with Bridget, an outspoken lesbian who leads a bohemian lifestyle of unashamed promiscuity. Molly is fascinated by Bridget's confidence and strength, and soom the two women form a friendship that starts to grow into something sexual. âThe Fouf-Faced Liarâ? appears at first glance to be a rather standart relashionship movie with a story that utilizes a few queer cinema clichà (C)s too many. But it grows beyond all that and turns into an unusually honest and analytical exploration on human intimacies. The whole âmain character discovers her homosexualityâ?-phase is left behind quite early on and the story instead focuses on what happens after. This film is all about consequences, and it doesn't let the characters off the hook easily. I often find stories about people who abandon a perfectly functional life arrangement on some romantic impulse extremely annoying and unrealistic, as they in essence endorse a fantasy over real life. But here the phenomenon is seen as something almost tragic; Molly and Bridget simply can't keep themselves from destroying the people around them, even as they are completely aware that that's exactly what they are doing. Bridget could be described as a classic trickster character who mixes everything up, but even her apparent selfishness and lack of self control are viewed from a human perspective. Bridget is played by Marja Lewis Ryan who has also adapted the script from her own play. âThe Four-Faced Liarâ? is ultimately a mature and refreshingly intellectual relationship drama. It dives into the illogical nature of people and shows that life can sometimes be about unavoidable no-win scenarios where everyone gets injured. The movie's view on love is very primal and unglorified; people are driven by impulses that often conflict with the social norms around them. The functionality of a possesively monogamous relationship model is brough to question directly. As for the lesbian theme I can say that the film would have worked quite well with a normative heterosexual relationship challenging the status quo. But what binds the whole thing to the queer point of view is the story's cold statement that people who feel desires that conflict with the views of the community around them can never be truly happy; not by conforming nor by rebelling.
