The screenplay is well written. Dick Powell did a great job directing this movie. I enjoyed watching this movie because of the action and adventure. The Enemy Below is a must see. |

Mitchum and Jurgens are outstanding in their respective roles as the opposing captains (Mitchum on an American destroyer and Jurgens on a German U-Boat) who try to anticipate each other's moves and try to outwit each other.
