Movie Reviews

Ozus' World Movie Reviews - 9/10 by Dennis SchwartzSince I did not find the film particularly perceptive or funny, it is hard for me to recommend it.
Boxoffice Magazine - 7/10 by Bridget ByrneThere is a peeping tom mood to this amusing and often surprising tale, which follows the fortunes of a dress from drawing board to ragged demise.
Film Journal International - 6/10 by Kevin LallyA wildly unpredictable yarn that is alternately comic and creepy, sensitive and blunt.
User Review - 8/10 by Mark ADirected by Alex van Warmerdam, the same director who brought the recently viewed Grimm to the screen, The Dress is another somewhat surreal tale that follows a dress from its conception through the manufacturing process, and as it is worn by its various possessors. Most of those who came in contact with the dress came to some mischief. If Grimm would have been rated PG, then this one would probably have to be R, with a good bit of nudity, adult situations, and a certain creep factor. With these two films under my belt, I can definitely say I am a fan of the director's work. Quite an interesting filmmaker with a unique vision. I have several more of his films all queued up.
