User ReviewHamel GThe only thing you learn is how to die says a sinister voice in the trailer. And that's exactly what you get in this "christmas-themed' 80's slasher. It's dark, gritty and has some decent acting. It also has a great "early" score by Chris Young. One of my favourite slashers.
User ReviewJustin EEasily my fav slasher of all time and its forgotten or blatantly ignored by most!! the mpaa musta been sleepin during this one cause they let some pretty nasty gore slip their scissors!! low nudity but good atmosphere, and good gore effects..stay away from the dvd, bad transer and missing alot of gore..media entertainment vhs is the most uncut you'll probably ever see!! watch the fuck outta this one!!
User ReviewLeslie DThanks Synapse for the GREAT new release... time to discard of my crusty old bootleg! Great film, tons of fun!
User ReviewJim SThis was a really decent slasher film. You can't go into this expecting a glossy modern slasher though. It's a gritty early 80s slasher and you'll have to deal with poor lighting and other things, all of which, in my opinion, add to the atmosphere. The ending kicks ass and is worth sitting through the movie for. Also, the original trailer is super awesome.

User ReviewHeath SWhen the Slasher sub-genre of Horror was popular in the early 1980s, there were literally hundreds of cheaply made movies like this. This one features some innovative but dated gore FX; a suitably likeable "Final Girl" heroine played by Laurie Lapinski; a suitable number of red-herring suspects; a genuine surprising sting-in-the-tail identity of the killer; and useless authority figures in the guise of the local police. Nothing too special, nothing I had never seen before, but it was pretty enjoyable nonetheless. The lesson is, don't volunteer to clean up a dormitory the university wants to close over the Christmas break.
User ReviewChris MPassable college slasher flick with a semi-likeable cast of soon to be corpses, who do look a little too old to be in college. There's a few memorable set pieces like the steam cooker vat of death sequence, which one must admit is original. Then there's Daphne Zuniga in her first motion picture role, reduced to a few lines and a nice death scene. The atmopshere is pretty good, but there are scenes of almost total darkness, mostly due to a losuy print and the film's super low budget. The always reliable Christopher Young delivers a memorable score in what must be one of his first composing jobs. While the final killer revelation is a bit too over the top to be taken seriously, the ending does get some points for having the balls to close on such a disturbing, downbeat note. A word of warning, check this movie out in its "The Dorm That Dripped Blood" title, it is the most complete version of the film and has the best picture. The DVD release under the "Pranks" title is terrible looking and also appears to be taken from an extremely edited U.K. cut of the film. If you enjoy 80's slasher time capsules, you'll likely enjoy most of this cheesy dorm slasher. If you don't enjoy this type of thing, stay far away.
User Reviewken jThis was a pretty decent slasher/horror and mystery movie. Some of the gore/violence was well done. The ending was awesome and original. The movie suffered from a lot of slow moments and the quality of the transfer to the dvd was pretty bad.
User ReviewPaul JMediocre slasher that I think I enjoy more because of nostalgia
