Blu-ray.comBrian OrndorfDelivers B-movie jolts and agony without lingering on ugliness, maintaining enough of a ride to get some oxygen into entertainment that typically suffocates on labored nihilism.
Cinema CrazedFelix Vasquez Jr.It's pure blissful, loony post apocalyptic movie porn and hot damn if I didn't love every single minute of it from beginning to end.
StarburstPaul MountThe Domestics doesn't really take us anywhere we haven't gone before, but Nelson tells his lean and blunt story with some style.
Daily Telegraph (UK)Robbie CollinIt's all good grim fun, with a visceral kick.

User ReviewAnja AI have to admit, post-apocalyptic movies are not my cup of tea, but I decided to give this one a chance and what a great surprise! The movie approaches delicate topics such as marriage/divorce, feminism, and even religion in a dark-comic way, and most importantly, in a subtle way. The audience navigates with a broken couple, Nina and Mark (who try to save both their lives and marriage) through a once-beautiful Mid-West, now populated by vicious gangs. The relationship between Nina and Mark who were divorcing before the world ended, evolves from awkwardness to a fierce battle for survival and happiness in a devastated landscape - Kate Bosworth and Tyler Hoechlin dance around each other and have good chemistry, complementing without overshadowing each other. There's also great (feminist) character development from Nina, the wife who didn't need to be saved, after all. I found it interesting that religious signs are just as present in the movie as the weapons the characters use to fight each other, and it really makes you think that, perhaps, that is America's biggest contradiction: kill each other and save your souls... a bloody-movie, purge-esque, however, that does not neglect its love story.
User ReviewMaison NWatched this the other night on vudu and was captivated start to finish. It's dark, emotional, weirdly funny in some moments, and an odd yet realistic take on humans post-apocalypse. It was just different and I think that's something that made it so interesting. And the acting, from everyone involved, was phenomenal. Hoechlin especially absolutely killed it and i'll be watching this more than once for sure
User ReviewAgustin OA great low budget movie. Acting was good, scenarios were interesting, and overall an enjoyable movie.

User ReviewCurtis RAn AMAZING film. I'm certain it will gain a cult status pretty soon. It really was a fun ride, from moments of intense, heart racing suspense, to the very, very, VERY dark humour - from the first half hour I was already sold. This film will appeal to those who like Fallout, The Last Of Us, Mad Max and many more. I really enjoyed it and I cannot wait to buy a physical copy. GO AND WATCH THIS FILM!!!
