The DissolveScott TobiasThere’s a good horror movie to be made about how the insularity of the Amish could stoke paranoia and fear—and obscure the truth and forbid outside perspective—under these circumstances, but The Devil’s Hand doesn’t have more than a casual interest in Amish rituals and traditions.

User ReviewCody LNot a bad slasher. The concept is decent and the acting is good. Even has some nice chase scenes and kills.
User ReviewMarah RDespite its low budget and cheap look, this movie actually delivers the thrill and fright of a horror film. Brilliant plot twist and constant suspense.
User ReviewHeather MThis is a rare gem in the horror movie genre as it is more than just buckets of blood and gore. The story is compelling and the cast sold it perfectly.
User ReviewDustin IAn interesting film that doesn't always pay off but is intriguing none the less!
User ReviewMirza Mohd SThe promos kinda mislead you in believing this film is just another possession based horror flick, but instead its a very chewable entertaining slasher flick!! This movie is about exactly what I bet goes on in those freak brain-washed Amish communities - "Get away with murder- literally in the name of GOD". The plot itself is very interesting - 6 girls born on the 6th month 6th day that on their 18th b-day one will be left & she will be the devil hands or "Drommelkind" & now fast forward to 18 years later & a killer is picking them off one by one! Since one was killed by her own mother after birth, the remaining five are the ones to look out for & its up to us to believe if the prophecy is true? Well the film answers every question laid out in the viewers mind in as moderately violent way as possible! While portraying the Amish community, the amount of paranoia and fear the town shared & the use of dagger in the "Kill" sequences, I couldn't help but remember The Village & I Know What You Did Last Summer, the director seems to have created a semi hybrid of this two! The film looks good, thanks to Frank Godwin's cinematography, and has some talented actors in it, including young leads Alycia Debnam Carey, Adelaide Kane and Leah Pipes (though the latter looks about 10 years too old for her role) & Colm Meaney, Rufus Sewell and Jennifer Carpenter. While Meaney gets ample screen time to provide a good performance as the creepy & powerful Elder Beacon, its unfortunate the only two known faces Sewell & Carpenter are stuck mainly as back ground props. The twist at the end is pretty alright (one of my guesses). On the whole The Devils Hand is a surprisingly good mystery/horror/ thriller movie that keeps you guessing until most viewers guess right, with a perfect atmosphere set up the film deals with one of the most scariest things of all, evil done in the name of God while in cooperating itself as a slasher flick as well! Ignore the reviews, if you are a fan of this genre, you may like this one!
User ReviewFarah RThis movie is surprisingly not what I expected. The performances were strong, the story was executed properly to create a scary and suspenseful mood, and the ending is a complete mind-flip. Definitely one of the best horror films I've seen.
User ReviewCarol RHorror from start to finish!! Didnt guess the person that was killing everyone xx
User ReviewRod ENote: I have never seen this movie. This review was written for the 60's The Devil's Hand. This is the most realistic account of a Gamba cult that I have ever seen! Just kidding. It was still fun. You have to love the shady nurse always reporting on the phone.
