Leave your thoughts about The Devil to Pay.
Movie NationRoger MooreThe Devil to Pay — a great title, by the way — is a lean, mean straight-up genre thriller, leaning into some mountain stereotypes, twisting away from others.
The GuardianCath ClarkeDeadwyler’s soulful performance really grounds The Devil to Pay even as it cranks into revenge-movie mode. That said, if you want a slice of grim Americana to hunker down with, I’d go with Winter’s Bone or Frozen River.
User Reviewsjohnson38I had no idea what I wanted to watch but wanted to get out and see a movie so decided to check it out since I had seen 'Becky' in the drive-in and this was written by the same people. This movie is quite a bit different than Becky, in a really good way. The trailer was extremely 'action-packed' but the movie is actually a little more tense building up to the action, once again, in a good way. Both the lead and the villain are female and both are fantastic characters and played perfectly. There is also this weird cult that I found super entertaining. Like Becky, this would have been great at a drive-in.
User ReviewFoxLovesMoviesI was riveted from the opening scroll. Danielle Deadwyler, plays Lemon and her performance takes this film from great to epic. I loved everything about the film, the script, the cinematography, the music, the acting. Did I mention Danielle Deadwyler? This is going to be a film I come back to again and again.
