Classic Film and TelevisionMichael E. GrostStrange film about family tragedy masquerading as a comedy, the film does have some impressive sequences.
User ReviewNancy Ji love this movie--how cute is little ronny howard in this
User Reviewjay nUtterly charming delicate story of the sometime rocky love between a boy and his recently widowed father. Some of the standards are of course different but how could they not be in a film over 40 years old, ignore that and just enjoy the sweet simple story. Shirley Jones is incredibly lovely and Stella Stevens is wonderful in her small role, a vastly underrated actress.
User ReviewMajbritt SOne of my favorite movie with Glenn Ford. May he rest in heaven with his friends. Fantastic. Great movie. Funny but also a little sad. Stella Stevens and Ron Howars are also great in this movie.
User ReviewPrivate UToo bad alll fathers and son's could experience this.... but sadly many do not have a father figure to look up tooooo...
User ReviewJoseph MA cute, feel good movie. It was fun to see what a great little actor Ron Howard was in the film at the age of 9.
User ReviewChrisna HIn my Top 5. I STILL don't own this on DVD...
User ReviewKim PI feel like this is another example of Glenn Ford's versatility and I'm continually amazed the he was never recognized for his work. The subtle depth he shows in this movie is stunning, he was really trying to work with a troubled, complex character. Ron Howard is also amazing. He turns in such a great performance at such a young age.
User ReviewDana FCharming comedy based on a novel, later a basis for a tv sitcom. Glenn Ford shines as Tom Corbit, and Ronny (Opie) Howard as Eddie, in this version, the "courtship" is for Tom and a lady friend. Yet, like most kids, they tend to steal the show and the young Ronny does that. My call~ Excellent family comedy.
User ReviewBob WThe great Glen Ford and the greater Little Ronny Howard.
