| User Reviewjay nUtterly charming delicate story of the sometime rocky love between a boy and his recently widowed father. Some of the standards are of course different but how could they not be in a film over 40 years old, ignore that and just enjoy the sweet simple story. Shirley Jones is incredibly lovely and Stella Stevens is wonderful in her small role, a vastly underrated actress. |

| User ReviewKim PI feel like this is another example of Glenn Ford's versatility and I'm continually amazed the he was never recognized for his work. The subtle depth he shows in this movie is stunning, he was really trying to work with a troubled, complex character. Ron Howard is also amazing. He turns in such a great performance at such a young age. |

Glenn Ford shines as Tom Corbit, and Ronny (Opie) Howard as Eddie, in this version, the "courtship" is for Tom and a lady friend. Yet, like most kids, they tend to steal the show and the young Ronny does that. My call~ Excellent family comedy. |
