Once upon a time, a four-child family lives in peace and quiet in a mountain village. Their peaceful life shatters when they find out that the mother has tuberculosis. The mother believes that she will pass away in a short period of time. Because of this saddening fact, she has her husband marry an infertile woman considering her children's future.
