Maria Varkas, a famous operetta star tired after her last show, takes an incognito holiday with her assistant Ilka at a small hotel in the Bayern mountains. There they listen how Otto, a composer, and his friend Josef, music writer, criticize theatre divas. Maria, taking it personally, wants to give them a lesson.
