It's 1916, and Indiana Jones is living with his dad in Princeton, New Jersey. Spring break is fast approaching, and all Indy can think of is taking his girlfriend Nancy (daughter of cliffhanger author Edward Stratemeyer) to the prom in a slick new Bugati. The car's foreign engine is impossible to get parts for, but a favor from a professor working at Thomas Edison's laboratory raises his hopes. His plans are sidetracked when a mysterious break-in, the theft of an electric motor, and rumors of German spies result in a mystery that only Indy and Nancy can unravel. Indy and his father then head to the southwest to visit family in Albuquerque. With his mischievous cousin Frank, Indy heads to Columbus, New Mexico to sew some wild oats when the town is suddenly attacked by Pancho Villa and his riders. Playing hero, Indy follows the Villistas into the desert and is soon taken captive. As a 16-year old itching for a good fight, Indy is stirred by Villa's words, and joins his cause, riding with the Villistas as General Pershing chases them throughout the desert. Indy meets and befriends the Belgian expatriate Remy, witnesses the intensity of a young George S. Patton, and also finds a murderer who escaped the law eight years earlier in Cairo in this adventure that sets the teenage Indy on a path that will lead him to war-torn Europe.

User ReviewRaymond PAnother favorite. The first part involves Thomas Edison and the second has Young Indy meeting Remy. Oh, not to mention Pancho Villa.
User ReviewMercurio CThis by far is my favorite Young Indiana Jones. This one actually has Indy using a whip (even though for a few seconds). Another reason I like this one so much, is that this one was referenced in Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.
User ReviewAhsoka Tthe start of a memorable story telling adventure !
User ReviewHeather MFlanery is no River Phoenix, but he's fun as young Indy gallivanting around Mexico with Pancho Villa. Re-edited from original TV version.
User ReviewTravis FThe Young Indy films are a mixed bag, but this one is probably the best.
User ReviewZac GThis episode always makes me smile. Yet again two totally different episodes edited together, here it sorta works as one represents Indy before he left school, the other, well the other is pretty crazy. The first episode, Princeton 1916 is our sole oppurtunity to see Indy in High school, and what a geeky Indy he is. Far from the soldier and spy he becomes in later episodes, here Indy works as a soda jerk, reads Tom Swift, and cares only about what car he'll be driving to the prom. Its all very entertaining in its goofiness. Indy gets involved in what amounts to a Nancy Drew mystery with his girlfriend Nancy, meeting Thomas Edison along the way. Its fun, pure and simple enjoyable stuff. The second part is also the companion piece to what is now 'My First Adventure', and therefore wraps up many of the plot strands set in motion there, for once the linking segment isn't so bad and its not long before Indy is in Mexico and fighting alongside Pancho Villa. Indy's goofiness continues in what is a very admirable episode, particualrly a segment in the Hacienda of William Randolph hearst where Indy and his Mexican (and Belgium) friends watch news reel footage about the war. Its intelligent television, moving and effective at times, and the central performance by Sean Flanery holds it all together. Great Stuff.
User ReviewJames EI prefer the young Indiana Jones stories to the films
User ReviewGreg CI liked these alright but not as much as the movies.
User ReviewSimeon MI don't remember these too well, but they were all fairly entertaining.
User ReviewRowan CIt was sort've too campy for my taste, but it's certainly a step up from the 9-year-old Indy. The story was interesting and it certainly delivered a lot of adventure, but it sort've failed to go anywhere. It almost got the tone of the movies, just a little too comical.
