Little White LiesAnton BitelHsiao traces the many moods of change and exchange with a breezy elegance that offsets his film's underlying philosophical and spiritual preoccupations.
User ReviewRemy ROrdinary life in a not so ordinary cafe in Tapei. Great picture. Great acting. Funny and bitter sweet. Lunmei Kwai is beautiful.
User ReviewStephen YI rate this movie 3.75 stars or perhaps 4 (I'm on the fence.) A Taiwanese made film, its a nice touching story that's well written and directed. In fact it the most Taiwanese I've heard in about 15 years but I think there were other dialects mixed in there ...too. Interestingly, one of the songs in the movie is Japanese (though the Japanese dude can't sing), and one I heard growing up. I think its called Furusato (Means: Home/Hometown). Acting was well done and the main actress is cute. I guess Taiwanese girls have a particular way about them that makes them different. If you're a guy, my advice from the movie would be..."slow and steady wins the race" and know some good stories to tell. I liked this movie and recommend it highly.
User ReviewHoward MThis film is a bit slow-paced but has a nice touch to it... It is well-directed, has a great cast, and the idea of having a cafe where people can exchange all kinds of items is rather unique. I like this movie.
User ReviewVincent SFine storyline, comfort music score, and very smooth atmosphere. It's quite enjoyable.
User ReviewRebecca Wa slow-paced but nice movie, feel really good after watchin it :)
User ReviewPovis La very light and refreshing story, that make you think about what is more important to yourself at this moment. A soft way to express a "may be heavy" subject matter. Straight forward and easy to understand. Beautiful music. And of couse, Lunmei is always pretty.
User ReviewVishnu MSo refreshing n serene... Noteworthy Background score also...
User ReviewChi HIt was beautifully done with the right amount of humour and expressing an humble feel of the urge to travel to all sorts of places. I enjoyed the transitions from scene to scene.
