ScreenAnarchySebastian Zavala KahnYou either get what the team behind [the film] is trying to do, or you don't, in the same way that you either laugh at the [...] random pop culture references, or you don't.
Film ThreatBobby LePireThe most prominent flaw here is that without knowledge of the first movie, Surge Of Power: Revenge Of The Sequel is impenetrable and nonsensical, as far as the plot's concerned.
The Hollywood ReporterFrank ScheckIt's hard to entirely resist the film's cheerful self-awareness of its limitations or the committedly loony performances by the performers who seem to be having a good time.
Movie NationRoger MooreThe attempts at jokes don’t land and cameos are no substitute for story, performances or wit in the script. This super hero spoof is a played out idea excruciatingly executed.
Los Angeles TimesKimber MyersIt is a master class in how not to make a film, beginning with lessons in writing an unfunny script, leaving foundation makeup visible on actors’ faces and sound editing that overemphasizes a bland score.
User ReviewGregory WFun and lighthearted romp through the superhero genre. Well-edited, easy to watch entertainment.
User ReviewKatie GEverything a Superhero film should be and more: Good vs Evil, action-packed, riveting storyline, handsome hero, as well as an iconic cast. A must see!
User ReviewJeff HCampy and fun! Definitely spoke to my inner geek!
User ReviewJeff RWhat a fun comic book comedy with a terrific message about being yourself and following your dreams. A star-studded cast that adds weight to the ingenious script. A really fun ride that's worth the trip! Eric Roberts is hilarious!
User ReviewGregg BAre you kidding me? This movie is so much fun! There are so many classic one liners in this flick.... I find myself saying them all the time. It is refreshing to just watch and enjoy the story than be overcome with CG and over the top FX... it carries it fine on it's own.Take it for what it is and just enjoy the fun ride!
