Leave your thoughts about Subway.
IndieWireDavid EhrlichSubway is a rush of youthful energy so raw and well-realized that it steamrolls any of the director’s attempts to cohere it into an actual story.
Los Angeles TimesMichael WilmingtonMore style than substance here but what style it is and what little gems of cinematic moments collect together in this enjoyable ensemble.
Washington PostRita KempleySUBWAY is DIVA with no brains--a film of all style and little substance. Ah, but what style!
The New York TimesJanet MaslinUnlike ''Le Dernier Combat,'' which had humor and urgency, Subway appears to have been a good deal more exciting to film than it is to see.
Chicago TribuneGene SiskelThe film looks terrific and offers one spectacular chase, but its story and characters are less substantial than even a weak episode of "Miami Vice."
Washington PostPaul AttanasioYoung French director Luc Besson (Le dernier combat) aims for a little American slickness in this relentlessly empty action film: it zooms along from one arbitrary sequence to the next, and its only aim is to keep the audience pumped up with kinetic stimulation.
User ReviewRebecca ROne of the best du look movies around! The Parisian metro never looked so stylized! Second only to Le Grande Bleu.
User ReviewChristine Ra french 80's subculture classic! a bit off-the-wall...but have a certain fondness for this one.
User ReviewMatt JA Luc Besson classic with a Punk Rock 80s theme. It starts with a marvelous car chase which to date - I don't believe has been beaten in my eyes. Another totally original story with an underground element to it. French masterpiece. One for Francophiles and those who love Christopher Lambert and 80's punk music!
User ReviewJason PI worked at a video store and luckly I rented this movie for free. I have a strange appreciation for bad film. the Vhs cover of this box had Christopher Lambert holding an objecty that looked like a light saber. I thought "Great, Its like Starwars V.s. the highlander!" I was dissapointed when I found out that he was actually holding a floresent light tube. I think this is one of the only films that I have seen where christopher lambert isn't weilding a sword of some type. It started off with a good chase scene and all in all, it is a movie I think that everyone should see at least once, if not just for the strange experience
