Meet the Borgens. William Borgens is an acclaimed author who hasn't written a word since his ex-wife Erica left him 3 years ago for another man. In between spying on Erica and casual romps with his married neighbour Tricia, Bill is dealing with the complexities of raising his teenage children Samantha and Rusty. Samantha is publishing her first novel and is determined to avoid love at all costs - after all she's seen what it has done to her parents. In between hook ups, she meets "nice guy" Lou who will stop at nothing to win her over. Rusty, is an aspiring fantasy writer and Stephen King aficionado, who is on a quest to gain 'life experiences'. He falls for the beautiful, but troubled Kate and gets his first taste of love and a broken heart. A tale of family, love (lost and found), and how endings can make new beginnings. There are no rewrites in life, only second chances.

Tolucan TimesTony MedleyHighlighted by standout performances by Greg Kinnear and Lily Collins, this film has it all, some humor, some tears, and a lot of truth.
AV ClubMike D'AngeloAs writer-director Josh Boone introduces these characters, he superimposes words on the screen to suggest how they channel their thoughts and conversations into their work. But that’s the extent of the film’s interest in writing, which serves strictly as a “classy” backdrop for a series of painfully contrived amorous meltdowns among a family who might as well run a dry-cleaning business.
Paste MagazineAnnlee Ellingson[Boone's] semiautobiographical film is a confident, at times wonderfully nuanced, and often well-paced rewrite of his own parents' divorce.
CompuserveHarvey S. KartenStarts sit-comish but as it becomes more complex it takes on a somewhat literary tone.
Birmingham Mail Graham YoungHugely watchable from the shock beginning through to the clever mix of end-of-lifecycle events and renewed opportunities ( ... ) a class above what passes for the average romcom today.
Sky CinemaTim EvansUnfashionably un-cynical, it's a labour of familial love from first-time writer-director Josh Boone whose simple style well serves a story of sweetness and wit.
Spirituality and PracticeFrederic and Mary Ann BrussatThree writers in one family explore the different shades of love.
Little White LiesDavid JenkinsBoone does little to convince that these characters are genuinely sensitive, intellectually superior, or more importantly, that their talents play any real part in alleviating/causing their worldly stresses.
MediaMikesMichael A. SmithA little heavy-handed at times, "Stuck in Love" is saved from the maudlin pile by its stellar cast.
Total FilmEmma JohnstonThe ending may be a little too tidy and obvious, but this is a sweet little study of the right royal mess people can make of relationships when they let their own neuroses take over, and a warm tribute to overcoming them.
