| User ReviewAllan CA married architect is stuck in a loveless marriage, but then find love again when he starts an affair with a dress designer. However, melodrama ensures when his daughter falls in love with his mistress' brother. The drama isn't all that interesting, but the pre-production code elements of sex outside of marriage and martial infidelity make the tepid drama a bit more entertaining. Kay Francis was the only actor in the film I was familiar with. |
| User ReviewSimcha GCan a movie with a rediculously melodramatic script and a terrible director be worth seeing...apparently. Charming performances from Gloria Stuart Roland Young and even the male ingenue Alen Vincent save it. The desperation and transition are present: the Depression and the Empire State Building are both in the background. And Kay Francis had that "special something" which keeps one watching her even when she is says really corny stuff. |
