A routine trick at a man's apartment propels a cynical hustler into a series of strange and life-changing encounters in this stunningly photographed drama from San Francisco-based Joseph Graham. Tall and lanky with a mop of unruly dark hair, the young man makes for an attractive prostitute - handsome in body, amiable in personality and efficient in sex. He's just out to make a buck, one guy at a time. But this coldly efficient rent boy begins to look at himself in a different way one stormy night when he finds himself lost in a maze-like apartment building. The evening begins with a tryst with a beefy but timid man unused to gay sex. Their "session" becomes surprisingly tender for both. But time is money, and he's off - that is, he'd be off if he could find the exit. His unexpected odyssey leads him to a series of encounters: there is one with a "straight" guy with issues; a cocaine-fueled queen who thinks he knows him; an older man, hidden away in a leaky attic apartment who assists him on his journey; and a lonely young man who thinks he's finally found a connection with someone. Sex is the commonality, but out of that commodity comes raw, unguarded emotions for all, even for the hustler.

Movie Reviews

User Review - 10/10 by Eric AA hustler is trapped in an apartment building and encounters a number of characters throughout the night on his journey of self-discovery. I rarely rate films 5 stars, but this was brilliantly acted, well-directed, and thoroughly entertaining.
User Review - 8/10 by Michael NA really smart, sad, well made film. I think it gets a little too scatterbrained toward the end, but it doesn't ruin it. Ben Bonenfant is kind of amazing.
User Review - 8/10 by Jenn TReally interesting. Good dialogue as well as acting. Really unique plot concept and interesting characters.
User Review - 8/10 by J RWhy wasn't this movie called "Trapped"? After all, the male hustler can't find his way out of an apartment building and is confused about his gay inclinations. Although Ben Bonenfant is not physically drop-dead gorgeous, he can act and he brings a vulnerability to the role. It's believable why the residents want to have a piece of him and will be attracted to this boy-man sensitivty. They're willing to pay despite their low income status. That said, I loved the metaphor of a guy coming to terms with his orientation through sex. Sex can be therapeutic and the ending is justified. The movie threatens to become repetitive but the final scene between Gary played by an excellent Nick Frangione and Bonenfant is beautifully photographed and one of the best gay scenes between two men--you feel the passion between two lost souls. Another theme of this movie is to keep looking until you find what you want. Some of the dialogue is a gem. "How do gay men say goodbye?" "I'll call you." "A maze is a trap but a labyrinth goes somewhere." The entire couch scene between Sam played well by Paul Gerrior and Bonenfant is superbly written. The rain dripping into the apartment is a nice touch with contrasting these two men. One of the joys of watching films is to discover a film that you've never heard about it and then thoroughly enjoy it. This one's a secret treasure.
User Review - 8/10 by Danifesto GLoved this! Good writing! Way more than what I expected.
User Review - 8/10 by Jevro WSo my friend Coley da moley told me to watch this movie and I read the description and it basically sounded like a Porno... A hustler goes to the gayest building on the gayest Street in the gayest part of the city for a booking and then can't find his way out of said building and keeps getting side tracked by all these guys and has sex with them all. But that is just the first layer, quite an attractive layer and the hustler is uber cute. But underneath is a really touching story about self discovery and what being gay means to all different sorts of men. I could see parts of myself in all of them. Really surprised by how good this mega low budget movie is. And it's on YouTube! Loved it.
User Review - 8/10 by Budi GNot just another queer hustler movie. Strapped is a spiral of spontaneous journeys leading head to toe in a foreboding apartment block that climaxes with a trick that opens the young hustlers mind to something new and untrodden.
User Review - 6/10 by Joffrey HAn interesting take on a rent-boys experiences with a nice happy ending.
User Review - 6/10 by Tiuri Eune histoire très simple mais des personnages attachants la rende particulièrement intà (C)ressante. C'est un bon divertissement.
User Review - 6/10 by Roxanne RA young hustler (Eddie) played by Ben Bonenfant moves almost effortlessly through the world, modifying his persona to fit the needs of each client even though it leaves him with little self-knowledge. That changes during one night of unusual sexual encounters with various men in the building he goes to meet up with a client. After a session with a shy Russian, Eddie tries to leave the apt building but is stymied by its maze-like structure and meets a string of residents who teach him about life during each sexual encounter. I understood the message the writer sends to the viewer and it is one reason I give this one high marks (it is an indy film).. Good job by Joseph Graham (director) and the cast. The long spiral staircase seems to signify our journey through life and during that journey our protagonist may find love where he least expects it. But, will he be too blind to recognize it considering the vicious cycle he is in as a hustler? Going from man to man, without a clear purpose. This guy in my opinion merely exists, he does not live. Good one to watch and reflect upon our lives!
