Movie Reviews

Village Voice - 8/10 by Chris PackhamThough not as funny as Moore's earliest work, Jon Whelan's Stink! is way more emotionally affecting.
The New York Times - 7/10 by Jeannette CatsoulisSensible and unnerving, Stink! is likely to incite, at the least, a purging of Axe body spray from adolescent boys’ bedrooms.
The Hollywood Reporter - 7/10 by John DeForeThough Whelan's debut filmmaking effort wears some of its homemade characteristics proudly, it wrangles more than enough credible interviewees to make its points.
Variety - 6/10 by Nick SchagerNo matter its cinematic derivativeness, Stink!’s outcry against continuing to use the American citizenry as chemistry experiment guinea pigs carries with it the unassailable whiff of common sense.
Los Angeles Times - 4/10 by Noel MurrayWhile Whelan repeats his points too much, it remains gripping and maddening throughout to watch him run into stone walls.
User Review - 10/10 by Timm SAs a member of a family with 3 generations of women who have had breast cancer, I think this documentary is of dire importance. Not only does it expose our failed FDA and political system in protecting our health, it exposes our lack of knowledge as to what products can do to our long term health. This documentary pulls at your heart strings as you follow a single dad with two daughters who lost their mother to breast cancer. I highly recommend this film to anyone who wants to be informed.

User Review - 10/10 by Eric RI saw the new documentary STINK! By Jon Whelan. It's curious how one can sell a bottle of something that's clearly composed of chemical compounds without really letting you know what's in it. With food they have to disclose every single thing inside it. Fragrance is something we breathe in and absorb through our skin every day. If it's killing us, someone should mention that. It may be. And Jon Whelan is mentioning it. Whelan is a younger, handsomer, more likeable Michael Moore who's gotten down to his fighting weight. And he's taking on the Fragrance industry, relentlessly and fearlessly. We might assume the corporate giants making billions in this commercial arena are being watched over by some government regulatory agency. But we'd be wrong. On the contrary, the government is influenced by the industry to keep their business as profitable and free of oversight as possible, unlike their counterparts in every other part of the world. What you'll learn will astound and frighten you. And that's good. When you watch STINK, you'll find its creator/protagonist/narrator/hero relatable, and smart. And you learn through this documentary and the story interlaced within it, that he is doing this from the standpoint of a good, earnest man and father. This point of view and the way the story is told is unique and engaging, more so than any documentary that I can recall. Whelan's story, STINK, is as touching as it is powerful and informative. And I think everyone in our society, which wreaks of unregulated fragrances in products you wouldn't even imagine, should see this.
User Review - 10/10 by Shaun MAmazing! This Davey and Goliath documentary is not only entertaining and compelling, but also tells a tale about how things work in America that gets more surreal as the movie progresses. A must see for every parent - what you don't know will terrify you...
