Leave your thoughts about Still Bill.
Chicago Sun-TimesRoger EbertStill Bill is about a man who topped the charts, walked away from it all in 1985 and is pleased that he did.
NYC Movie GuruAvi OfferA captivating, insightful, revealing and surprisingly moving documentary.
The New York TimesMike HaleMuch of the biographical documentary Still Bill pleasant and even moving.
Time OutHank ShteamerStill Bill gives the onetime R&B superstar ample space to air his tough yet warmhearted worldview, and to demonstrate its daily application.
Village VoiceNicolas RapoldWithers gets a sleepily even-keel portrait that could use more on musical technique, though it is nice to see him get happy with singer-songwriter Raul Midón.
User ReviewBill CThe simple glimpse into his life was interesting enough for this man who wrote "Lean on Me", "Ain't No Sunshine", "Use Me" and many more. I really did not remember who Bill Withers was and watched this movie on a recommendation/lark, but after watching it I will never forget him. Like his songs his words are eloquent in their simplicity. Unlike many musicians Bill is educated and had lived a full life before taking-up music a 32 Yrs old. From his musical beginnings to dropping out of the scene to raise his children he was unwavering in focus and would not let the music industry define him and his music.
User Reviewmatt sLove that the man is as wonderful as his music. In '91 I had one suitcase to go to live in Brazil for 6 months and only two cds, Bill's Greatest Hits was one.
User ReviewCarla VA very moving and entertaining biographical documentary of the great soul singer Bill Withers. Despite not having released any music for about 20 years he still is at the top of my play-list.
User ReviewJay SGreat doc about a true living legend that did not let the industry make him crazy
User ReviewChad SThe inspiring story of a stuttering child from the southern coal fields of West Virgina who grew up to be arguably the greatest soul musician of all time. Phenomenal doc. Bill Withers is truly one of a kind. Such an incredible talent and amazing human being. Get inspired. Watch this now.
