Leave your thoughts about Stephen Tobolowsky's Birthday Party.
eFilmCritic.comScott WeinbergThe kind of party I'd like to attend is the one hosted by Mr. Stephen Tobolowsky - a laid back and quietly classy affair filled with fine wine and lots of great anecdotes.
Reel Film ReviewsDavid Nusair...it does seem entirely likely that even those who've never heard of [Tobolowsky] will inevitably find themselves won over by the actor's warm, irresistibly inviting persona.
Film.comMark BourneThink of Stephen as a softer, rounder, more existentially content Spalding Gray, or the film as a My Dinner with Andre in a pullover sweater and sensible shoes.
Combustible CelluloidJeffrey M. AndersonAccording to Brinkmann, Tobolowsky is the greatest storyteller he's ever heard, and after watching this film, that statement is hard to dispute.
Internet ReviewsSteve RhodesThe late Spalding Gray may have no equal living today to recreate the energy and beauty of his monologues, but Stephen Tobolowsky in this film comes close.
User ReviewVinny NTobolwsky is such a great storyteller. I watch this and wish I could tell stories with half of his talent.
User ReviewRichard DHoly crap! I've never been so engaged by someone telling story than this. Stephan Tobolowsky exudes charisma. I couldn't turn away.

User ReviewScott MStephen Tobolowsky has great stories. Some hilarious, some heartbreaking. As he told his final, most heartfelt story, I realized that he's more than just a man telling tales. This man has found wisdom that all men seek, and most never find. Clair de Lune playing over the credits sealed the deal. Also, wtf is Amy Adams doing in the background?
| User ReviewMark M90 minutes of "Oh, that guy"-actor Stephen Tobolowsky telling anecdotes from his life to his friends at his birthday party shouldn't be this viciously entertaining. And yet, I only wish it could have gone on longer. Tobolowsky is an articulate, insightful, and very funny man. He owns the room and your attention when he's speaking. This flick might be a little hard to find, but it's 100% worth your time.
