In a small town between China and Russia, after decades behind bars, former smuggler Ma Biao is released from jail, only to find the world has changed. He starts by searching for his former girlfriend Karinna. Eventually he finds work in an auto repair factory where he befriends Wei, a young man who reminds him of his younger self.
