Total FilmMatt GlasbyAn enthusiastic, if dog-eared mongrel of a movie.
CNNRadioPaul ChambersWhen you finally learn what it's all about, you might have preferred a community theater production of "Annie" instead. "Splintered" is lame to the max.
Empire MagazineKim NewmanHalligan handles the low-budget horror with adroitly but the by-the-numbers plotting takes the edge off the scares.
Radio TimesSloan FreerPoor pacing and predictability -- not to mention amateurish performances -- rob even the kills of genuine impact.
GuardianPhelim O'NeillYou just can't wait for them to get killed off quickly enough.
Daily Telegraph (UK)David GrittenNot enough twists or shocks to make it interesting or scary.
User ReviewTishanna WI actually rather enjoyed this film. You expect it to be something supernatural or sci-fi, but it's not. It's just a good, clever thriller. I'm surprised not more people enjoyed it. Okay, so the acting isn't amazing, & some of the 'flash backs' were a little confusing but other than that, an enjoyable watch.
User ReviewMike MBog-standard DVD fodder... The first UK feature to have been shot on the state-of-the-art RED digital camera, it looks sharper than post-pub fare involving a lot of barely motivated running about in the dark really needs to; a couple of suspense sequences even show the vaguest flickers of directorial promise. Still, there's a lot that might encourage you to leave it on the racks, being murkily plotted and variously under- and over-acted by a no-name cast. As for the dialogue - oh, the dialogue. "At least I'm not a frigid little b***h." "No, just an egotistical t**t." Chapeau!
User ReviewRobert BAppallingly obvious & lazy. They get lost in the woods, a girl trips on log while running away, a priest comes to the rescue, girl looks wrong way while driving.
User ReviewAimee GMeh... it was OK I enjoyed the twist at the end even though I expected it.
