| User ReviewRobert HThis practically unknown 80s Canadian "horror" flick is an odd piece of SOV DTV fare. Before behind-the-scenes featurettes were comon place on DVDs, there were Documentaries and behind-the-scenes pieces shot for plenty of movies while they were filming but audiences never really got to see them. Splatter: Architects of Fear is essentially a behind-the-scenes featurette on the special FX used to make a completely make believe film. That's right, this is a faux documentary behind-the-scenes movie showing you how to make a movie, while also adding in some kind of mutant PA who also happens to be mentally slow... think Igor for comparison. The production values are quite good for this movie within a movie feature as long as not compared with todays standards. This is how horror was made on a budget in the 80s (and many of the tricks covered are still used today). Horror fanatics should track this one down cause it's filled with gore, nudity, violence, mutilation, perversion and it's all justified! |
