Creative LoafingMatt BrunsonThe picture effectively marked Fred Astaire's retirement from dancing -- it was his last significant on-screen hoofing, and he's as sublime as ever. Yet it's co-star Cyd Charisse who dominates the picture.
Ozus' World Movie ReviewsDennis SchwartzHas a few sparkling moments that are irresistible.

User ReviewLisa BFred Astaire plus Cole Porter equals Lurve.
User ReviewPatti PThe very first Fred Astaire movie I ever saw! Favorite Song: I Wanna Be A dancing Man
User ReviewDarine SCyd Charisse was Fred's best dancing partner in film, only Barrie Chase from his NBC TV specials was more talented. Outstanding Cole Porter score.
User ReviewVadim DOne of Fred Astaire's best films. While it might be his work with Ginger Rogers that has entered the pantheon of film, It's his later pairings that I actually find more enjoyable, and this particular one is the best. Cyd Charisse is not only a fine dancer, but a great actress and comedienne. This is a great script and a great production that's out loud funny and greatly entertaining.
User ReviewBori HCole Porter's music is unbeatable! And the "transformation" of Cyd Charisse - beautiful! Very good choreos all through, though. And Fred...well, he'll always be remembered anyway. :-)
User ReviewAngela PI love this film. the three gentlemen from USSR are great.
