Chicago ReaderJ. R. JonesIt's got real energy, and its solid grounding in LA's Asian community gives the laughs a genuine cultural point of view.
User ReviewDavid ZI've got pretty fond memories of this from an Asian film festival a while back. I believe one of the directors is lined up for the US 'Oldboy' remake which is depressing.
User ReviewMark KThe first half is overwhelmed by stupid jokes, and boring melodrama and never seems to get off the ground while the second half is over burdened by horrible performances an terrible directing.
User ReviewChris SAbout as disjointed as an indy film can get. The only redeeming qualities lie in one particular character (technically two) that renders the rest of the ensemble obsolete by comparison. Then throw in a maybe/maybe not supernatural element to imbalance the film further. It is nice to see a movie with a cast full of Asians where none of them are eating rice or doing kung fu though.
