Cinema Crazed - 4/10 by Felix Vasquez Jr.With the tagline "Beyond Alien! Beyond The Thing!" Cardone's science fiction horror hybrid is so beyond boring...
User Review - 4/10 by Lee ?Average Charles Band production, something I've said far too often after viewing a Full Moon flick. I don't mind cheesy sci-fi movies but this one didn't quite have the fun side that usual accompanies other b-movies of it's type. The monster is kept concealed from view for far too long, majority of the kills are off-screen and the gore is minimal apart from two moments. The story did have a bit of intrigue early-on, despite the scientific terminology making for a bit of confusment, and there was frequent glimpses of a nude woman sleeping away in a capsule who's the focus of the experiments taking place in the story. But really you're not missing out on much here.
User Review - 2/10 by Robert HStarring: Louise Fletcher, David Beecroft, James Hong, Frederick Flynn, Shawn Weatherly, and Miguel A. Nunez, Jr. Written and Directed by J.S. Cardone. Rated R (for strong violence/gore, terror, graphic nudity and language). Running time approximately 1 hour 28 minutes. Rarely do films falsify their own intelligence, but Shadowzone does so with uncommon valor. We are made to believe that the characters ("scientists," if you will) actually know what they're talking about, but their discussions of dimensions and sleep research become tedious and annoying. Repetition upon repetition of nonsense might make some believe that they need to do a bit of their own research, but it just made me think these people were witless wackos who really needed to get out more. Louise Fletcher is the only bright spot. I really enjoy her, I always have, but why did she bother with this goofy movie? There is one moment in the film which really gave me the creeps, but before it came, and once it passed, I was just bored as all hell with these people and their awful dialogue. Cardone has made one other film since this dreck (The Forsaken, a vampire film from 2001), and though it's better, it still shows that he cannot escape the cliches of the horror genre.
