Ozus' World Movie ReviewsDennis SchwartzStill came up with the same conventional responses to teenage sexual behavior despite its novel way of filming.
New York TimesNed MartelIn Sexual Dependency, the filmmaker Rodrigo Bellott flirts with the allowable limit of themes in one movie. His frenzied but clever first film juggles race, class, jingoism, homophobia, sexual attraction and rape.
TV GuideMaitland McDonaghIts power lies in the intense, subtle performances of the ensemble cast and Bellott's ability to keep the tangled narrative threads from becoming a knotted mess.
Christian Science MonitorDavid SterrittThe pace of this Bolivia/US coproduction is slower than that of a snail, but it gathers some interest as the themes of the vignettes dovetail near the end.
Planet Sick-BoyJon PopickAmbitious filmmaking, especially from a first-timer from a country that hasn't produced a movie since 1995.

User ReviewStacieAn extremely interesting and very well done movie about sexuality. Also the split screen effect makes for the most unique film I've ever seen.
User ReviewJoel YThis is your typical women studies movie. However, I must confess that I closetedly love it! I might someday add it to my list of favorite movies with the risk of being stigmatized as a person who focuses on sex too much. The tensions revolving around gender, class, and racial cleavages in Latin America and the US are exacerbated in "Sexual Dependency" to provoke the audience and raise awareness. The last thing sounds like gay-rights activist speech.
User ReviewAdrian DProbably the best movie to come out of South America...It is a sad look at love and the hang ups we have that prevent us from finding it.
User ReviewPrivate UThis is a Bolivian film that captures in a constructivist way, several experiences of people regarding their sexual relationships and sexuality in general. It's really tough, but it's great!!!It's one of the best movies I've seen that touch this topic... Proud that it's Bolivian!
