Leave your thoughts about Sequence Break.
The Blogging BansheeMolly HenerySequence Break is a surreal scifi-horror mashup that manages to be both unsettling and beautiful all at once.
The LensAndrew WyattThe performances are clunky as heck, and a late-game story swerve feels like a failed, Hail Mary attempt to save the film from its own shapeless, repetitive, and nonsensical plot.
Daily DeadPatrick BromleyA film with some big ideas about generational malaise presented in the guise of a Cronenbergian body horror-a comparison Skipper willfully leans into, borrowing heavily from the great Videodrome, only swapping out arcade games for television.
StarburstScott ClarkThis is such a great underdog sci-fi film, taking oddball romances like Spring and throwing them into cyberspace via a heap of self-aware supporting elements and a sweetly nostalgic script.
Film Freak CentralAlice StoehrDespite its tiny cast and handful of nondescript locations, Sequence Break isn't minimalist. It's just empty.
User ReviewChase VI really wanted to say that I liked this film, but you have to look at the same boring sets, with the most dull lighting. And while the love story part is kinda interesting, it overshadows the main plot of the film( but it feels like a sub plot). Every now and then we get a cool effect but it?s very far and few and it just never goes far enough to be memorable. Also, we never actually see what the game is like example for the few seconds we see it. Along with that, we never find out what is so wrong with the game and why people are going crazy. But I?ll admit, it?s does get really entertaining(but that might be because the lighting changes from grey to literally anything else) and the soundtrack is pretty great.
User ReviewAllan CWeird and gross. Kind of like if Cronenberg made Tron.
User ReviewRiff JI really didn't understand this movie, ie how did we get to the conclusion that was presented. How does it make sense? I've tried searching for explanations online but can only find reviews that talk about its ambiguousness. The acting is pretty solid and the visuals/score are great. Its a fun watch for most of the movie before it gets totally weird and confusing.
