The filmmaker's survey of women becomes a journey of self discovery during which she decides to finally confront her past and her own father - on Father's Day. The Angela Sheltons complete the journey by teaching the filmmaker about forgiveness, faith and the power of the human spirit, no matter what your name is. | User ReviewCourtney GJust watched this today for my volunteer work training. Very intense look at women who are survivors of physical and sexual abuse. Although it can be hard to watch at times (nothing graphic is shown, just the women themselves telling their stories and living with this trauma), it was very eye opening and made me appreciate the fact that I have never gone through anything like that. And it makes me want to help people even more. I think if everyone watched this, it could be a stepping stone on the path of less violence towards women. |

You need to get past the first half hour... the first half hour isn't strong but once you get past it, you'll find the movie takes you on an emotional rollarcoaster. Angela Shelton's across American are spoken with and discussions on sexual assault and abuse are revealed... ultimately, the end result for Angeal Shelton is by no means the perfect happy ending - but it is by far reality and it's powerful. Every girl that's been sexually assaulted needs to see this movie... to remember... that you're not alone. |
