FangoriaChris AlexanderScooby Doo! and KISS: Rock and Roll Mystery is a great, light fantasy for little kids and the perfect companion to/improvement upon KISS Meets the Phantom.
User ReviewBruno DScooby-Doo and the Mystery Inc. Gang team up with the one and only KISS in this all-new, out-of-this-world adventure! We join the Gang at Kiss World - the all-things-Kiss theme park, as they investigate a series of strange hauntings. With help from Kiss, they discover that the Crimson Witch has returned to summon The Destroyer as the new bad witch to steal a black diamond that Kiss has. It was a very funny movie plus amazing cast if you love Scooby Doo or Kiss then you will like this movie.
User ReviewMatthew LWhat's not to love? Scooby Doo and KISS in one movie, its popular culture gone mad. Its a Scooby Doo mystery, so it does what it says on the tin but also manages the feat of taking each of KISS' personas to their logical conclusion whilst also sending up the band at the same time. Something the band seem more than game for. Only down side, the new KISS song isn't really a KISS song, but the soundtrack is pure gold.
User ReviewIsaac RA somewhat far-out and quite amusing rock and roll mystery with THE HOTTEST BAND IN THE WORLD!
User ReviewNick Iit puts the x in xray? ... really? Probably not for kids.
User ReviewBryan DTerrible. Simply terrible. I usually enjoy these movies but not this one.
User ReviewMary Theresa VIt brought back a band that hasn't been active in 15+ years, and a silly excuse to bring KISS back. I like KISS as much of anyone else, but I believe they only let this movie be created for money, and a chance of people buying it out of nostalgia. Also, out of all things they choose is KISS, mind you this is a kids movie... ya, and KISS is known for having women go either half-naked and throw their bras and stuff on stage. KISS isn't exactly "kid friendly" to make a movie with the gang. The members of KISS look horrifying on the cover, in the sense of just badly drawn... the Demon and Spaceman's eyes look weird, and very wrong. Also, one thing that pestered me is that they avoided mentioning KISS' members real names throughout the movie, even though everyone knows their actual names. At least they know Gene Simmons (Demon). Also, most kids now days won't really know KISS, and if they do, it would be from one song or from their parents... No connection, or familiarity for the younger audience. Aside from that, Scoody and Shaggy don't know when to stop pissing Gene Simmons (the demon) off, and Daphne is doing the cliche of falling in love with someone (Starchild), and Fred being jealous as usual. It's not amusing, it's old, and very overused in the franchise, and the newer movies just make it worse by far. *spoilers* The whole "it was a hallucination" thing was ridiculous due to the fact that not a whole group of people can hallucinate the whole incident and see the same thing at once. Then again, that's when they decide to do another twist and make you question if it is real or not, or Shaggy and Scooby are still high on the drug the Crimson Witch had for fog. *end of spoilers* It might be nostalgia fogging my mind, but I hate this movie and how they brought in something that should've remain dead. The franchise is basically dead at this point. (Mystery Inc. series being the one that mainly killed it with the lack of character personality, and making the characters one dimensional and erased their iconic traits.)
