Mahádev, the landowner of Rájurí village in Mahárásht.ra, India, is a tyrant obsessed with his own glory. Sakhárám, a poor farmer, dares to race his bullock-cart against Mahádev's, and Mahádev enlists Sávl.yá the dacoit to teach Sakhárám a lesson.
