Dying Wah has nothing to be afraid of anymore when he realizes that he has only 4 weeks to live, and he's determined to get revenge for his father. Later, when Wah successfully gets away in a robbery, detective San makes up his mind and chases after Wah and arrests him. But, we can only have one winner in a game, who's gonna win?... | User ReviewDaniel TJohnny To has had a very good directorial career but in my opinion, nothing really surpasses this. Very good performances from Lau Ching Wan and Andy Lau. If only Adam Cheng was young enough to duel with Lau Ching Wan. That would be ownage. |

All the elements click: a terrific script, that even manages to subvert the odd cliché, reliably imaginative direction by Johnny To, and excellent central performances by Andy Lau and Ching Wan Lau, the latter displaying his great comic timing to wonderful effect. |

| User ReviewPedro ASo good, one of the few Hong Kong movies that are worth watching (Infernal Affairs is probably the other one, the movie that was adapted into The Departed). The plot's great, the characters are smart and hilarious and overall, this really worked. If you enjoyed Inside Man, you will enjoy this. |
| User ReviewLee MWedesday, May 18, 2010 (1999) Running Out of Time (In Chinese with English subtitles) ACTION/ DRAMA When director Johnny To was given a limited amount of money, he was expected to make the most of what he had and as a result made this self- explanatory masterpiece!! Another ingenious, simplistic storyline never seen before about a dying assassin Cheung(Andy Lau) matching wits and playing cat-and-mouse with Inspector Ho played by Lau Ching Wan- somewhat has a similar style to monster hit "Infernal Affairs" but the difference is that this one has heart and a satisfying conclusion!! The action sequences is somewhat unnoticable because three of the characters is what stands out the most. This was a hit in Hong Kong resulting to making a poor copycat made sequel!! 4/4 |
