But Sean's adult son Nicholas, a more idealistic lawyer, returns to the ancestral Glencastle and falls in move again with Jonathan's natural daughter Kate, whose husband Patrick O'Hara's true ambition is succeeding Jonathan. Claire also returns to Ireland under a pseudonym, but is killed in a suspicious accident.
